It’s a typical winter day in the Bay Area: 60 degrees and partly cloudy. Fellow blogger bab and I are at a Quiznos in Milpitas on the east side of the bay. We are loading up on subs for a hike. Our destination is the Sunol Regional Wilderness park near the town of Pleasanton. A very pleasant park, it offers great winter hiking among rolling hills and pastures with the California happy cows maundering about. Using our Indian weather-reading skills, we had determined earlier that there is less chance of rain on this side of the bay.
After we get in my car, for some reason, I suggest to my partner-in-crime that maybe we should go to the Pleasanton Ridge park instead. He agrees. The last time I went to P. Ridge, five years ago, I was completely prepared with directions, maps, trail info, etc. This time I don’t have any of that but I am not worried for I have in my car a Garmin Streetpilot 2720 Automotive GPS. How can we get lost with this modern-day wonder gadget?

Why pay €2000 for a big home theatre speaker system when you can have the affordable iPod Hi-Fi? Apple today announced this new product (among others) for a complete iPod experience. A perfect companion for my Nano. I am not an audiophile but the frequency response doesn’t seem that great (53Hz to 16kHz). Though, for the price, this seems like a great product.
