Is Old Gold Now ?

The influenza pandemic of 1918 killed millions of people mostly young adults between the ages of 20 to 40. This was unusual because influenza usually kills the elderly and children. Even with the current bird flu, most cases have occurred in previously healthy children and young adults. With the fear of another influenza pandemic looming, is old gold at the moment ?

  1. Everytime I call my mother, she tells me to stop eating chicken and eggs. The latter, I can live without, the former, not.

I read somewhere that a cat was found dead in Germany infected with bird flu. You can start by giving up eating cats.

  3. I don’t want to eat cats but I want to roundhouse kick them every chance I get. The one species, the world would be better without.

How rude, anupcs! Cats are a misunderstood lot! You have to know a cat to realise how loving they are. My family is currently mourning the loss of our beloved cat who crossed the path of the neighbour’s dogs once too often and wiped out her entire stock of lives in one go!

  5. You are not going to convince me with tales of woe, Zen. I did have 3 cats while growing up but while enjoyed them as mere pets, I don’t have your kind of affection for cats. Though, I want to clarify my earlier comment: I only hold the household cats with derision, I admire the big cats.

    Your polls have just plummeted!
