The Tina Fey (Vice) Presidency
As has been rumored all of last week, the incomparable Tina Fey is indeed on SNL again, this time as Sarah Palin. This clip with Amy Poehler as usual playing Hillary Clinton, introduces us to the new season of Saturday Night Live. These two women, who recently starred in a movie called “Baby Mama” together, have got to be the funniest women in the country. Tina Fey is destined to play this role at least as long as Palin is in the national spotlight. In fact, I think she could even be a dupe for the latter if she, cough, becomes our president in a heartbeat.
Thank you, Lorne, for keeping us sane in these crazy times.

Good stuff! I saw some footage a while back of Gov. Palin responding to a reporter about whether she’d seen this clip. She was actually full of praise for Tina Fey’s rendition of herself, though she allegedly watched it with the volume muted. (Apparently, what’s verbal content good for, anyway?)
It seems to me that all of the nation’s current problems, from Iraq to the economy, are due *entirely* to poor judgment on the part of decision-makers in Washington and on Wall St. In this election, I was first leaning towards Obama, then McCain, but if the latter’s choice of VP candidate is any indication of his judgment, then I’m back in the Obama camp. To state the obvious, so far Palin seems unaware of the depth of her ignorance - she literally doesn’t know what she doesn’t know. I’m very curious to see what sort of verbal content tonight’s debate will treat us to. Who knows - she might surprise all of us. All that’s certain at this point is that the country - as well as the rest of the world - can not afford another administration with poor judgment.
