Radio from Paradise
While at work, I listen almost exclusively to a listener supported, ad-free radio station called “Radio Paradise.” This is a small-time operation run by an ex-DJ named Bill, his wife, and her son from a town called–what else?–Paradise in the Sierra Nevada foothills (near the party town of Chico). I was first introduced to Radio Paradise through iTunes but now listen to it even on my Solaris machines using RealPlayer.
This station plays a very eclectic collection of music by which you can be introduced to new artists and genres. (Bay Area readers will note a similarity to the local KFOG radio station.) According to their website, the programming is all manual and the transition between genres is smooth. Give it a whirl when you get the time and if you like it, one way you can support them is by buying a CD (from Amazon) via their link.
